Janelle K. Schick, A.S.I.D. President
Janelle K. Schick is one of Arizona’s most highly respected interior designers. Janelle’s design industry experience started in 1974, when she began her career in commercial design. In 1991 after working with several commercial and residential firms, Janelle joined Inter Plan Design Group. She was made partner in 1993 and built her reputation with the firm until 1998 when she established Schick Design Group, LLC. Janelle was a former “end user” in the hospitality industry. As a meeting planner and director, she organized and planned conferences and incentive trips throughout the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean. Incorporating this experience and knowledge into her design career was a natural next step. Schick Design Group specialized in the interior design of upscale boutique hotels, luxury clubhouses, restaurants and multi-million dollar residences. A professional member of ASID, Janelle served on the Board of Directors. She is past President of the ASID Arizona North Chapter and sits on the Interior Design Advisory Boards for the Art Institute of Phoenix, Scottsdale Community College and Mesa Community College. As an advocate for improving professionalism in the design industry, Janelle was on the steering committee and the Board of Directors for the Interior Design Coalition of Arizona, the legislative group supporting the design industry in Arizona and moving the profession toward certification of interior designers. Public accolades Janelle has received during her career: Recipient of fourteen ASID Excellence Awards, six first place awards for homes and furniture design.
